MOCK DRAFTS HELP SHAPE PLANS IN FANTASY

The mock draft is new to the Fantasy Premier League Draft game this season. It allows managers to experience the draft process before doing one for real. Getting involved is easy. First, simply state how many teams you want to be in a mock draft league with. You will then be allocated a place along with a number of randomly selected managers. The draft will get under way within 30 minutes after the first team joins. Snake draft Before the process begins, a random order is generated which will "snake" from round to round of picks until all squads in a league are completed. In a "snake draft" the pick order is reversed in each round, for example: Round 1: Team A, Team B, Team C, Team D. Round 2: Team D, Team C, Team B, Team A. As managers only have between 30-120 seconds to select a player in the draft, it is best to build a watchlist beforehand. This allows you to react quickly and bring in an alternative should you miss out on a big target. Learning curve Taking part in a mock draft gives managers the chance to learn the crucial differences in player selection between Fantasy Premier League and FPL Draft. In Draft, each Premier League player can only be in one mini-league squad. And there are also no player prices or squad budgets. This means that you could, potentially, assemble a squad with a number of big-hitters that would otherwise be too expensive in FPL. Sound foundations A mock draft will give you a better idea of those players who will be at the forefront of other managers' plans. But it can also help establish those players who will perhaps be overlooked. By using it to gauge the pre-season thinking of others, you can lay the foundations for a successful Draft season when the Gameweek 1 action gets underway on Friday 10 August.

LORIS KARIUS PRAISES LIVERPOOL FANS' HUGE SHOW OF SUPPORT AS HE MAKES ANFIELD BOW AFTER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DISASTER

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has praised Reds fans for the standing ovation they gave him during a pre-season friendly. In his first Anfield appearance since the fateful Champions League final, the German replaced new signing Alisson Becker with just 18 minutes remaining against Torino last night. The Brazilian number one came on to a rousing reception, and the crowd stayed on their feet to welcome Karius. The German stopper has suffered a torrid time since his mistakes in the defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev in May,

GW8 DIFFERENTIALS; ANTHONY KNOCKAERT

Anthony Knockaert (£5.5m) The midfielder is owned by only 1.1 per cent of FPL managers ahead of his home encounter against West Ham United. Knockaert has one goal and three assists for Brighton & Hove Albion, totalling 27 points in the first seven Gameweeks. At home, in particular, he has been consistent. The Frenchman has produced a goal or an assist in all three of his appearances at the Amex Stadium, which includes visits from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Indeed, he has averaged six points per home match in 2018/19. Home impact His underlying statistics also back up Knockaert's growing influence on Chris Hughton's side. The 26-year-old's totals of 14 shots on goal and 11 chances created are more than any team-mate. The Hammers arrive without a clean sheet in their three away matches. They have conceded eight goals on the road, the third-worst record in the Premier League. Knockaert looks well placed to take advantage of those frailtie...
